1. Macedonian – Turkish Friendship Happy Hour, Friday, Jan. 21, 6:30pm

We are pleased to announce that ATA-DC will join hands with the Assembly of
Turkish American Associations and the United Macedonian Diaspora and support
the organization of the Macedonian Turkish Friendship Happyhour. We hope that
2011 will be a year of tighter cooperation and stronger friendship for our
community and members.

2. TURKU – Nomads of The Silkroad with Mavi in Concert

Turku plays music from the western half of the Silk Road. They have played for
audiences as large as 8000 people and as far away as Samarkand, Uzbekistan
since 1998. Their music has received radio play as far away as Portugal and
Uzbekistan. South Carolina Public Television has shown Turku's performances on
many occasions. The members of Turku live in the Carolinas of the USA. TURKU Band has also participated in the Washington DC Turkish Festival many times.
Turku is a five member ensemble including Ted Monnich on saz, Farzad on violin
Daveed Korup on hand drums, Carla Monnich on davul and zils, Bayhar on bass
guitar.

3. Bridge to Turkiye Foundation – Batman Girls Dormitory Fundraiser, Sat. Jan. 29

BTF invites you to join us for an intimate evening of fellowship and mingle
with our celebrity guest, international award winning composer and pianist
Fahir Atakoğlu.

BTF has partnered with Milliyet Newspaper in Turkiye for a project to build a
girls' dormitory in Batman. Batman has one of the lowest rates of enrollment
of girls at schools and the highest rate of suicide among young girls. The
proceeds from this event will help us reach our goal of building this
dormitory. BTF has raised a total of $190,000 for this project and is very
close to reaching the $200,000 goal. We want to put the final $10,000 Brick at
our event.

There are no tickets necessary to join the event. You can make your
contributions in three ways. You can donate at the event, send us a check
(payable to "Bridge to Turkiye Fund") directly to BTF, or donate online on the
BTF website. If you would like to donate online, please use the link below,

4. An Evening in Ephesus, Monday, Jan. 31, 2011

5. A Route Less traveled – Anatolian Artisans Cultural Tour to Turkey
ANATOLIAN ARTISANS (AnARt) is a non-profit, tax-exempt (501c3) organization
dedicated to serving the needs of low-income artisans and raising awareness
about arts and culture of Turkey. AnARt has a unique mission to:
-Provide sustainable economic benefits to low-income artisans through product
development, marketing and training.
-Raise awareness about arts and culture of Turkey by organizing exhibitions,
festivals, fairs, conferences and seminars.

We hope you'll consider joining Anatolian Artisans for "A Route Less traveled" -- a Cultural Tour of Historic and Traditional North Central
Anatolia, including the Central Black Sea coast. The cultural tour starts
(and ends) in Istanbul -- twelve days and eleven nights, from the evening of
May 23 through June 4. We will visit three World Heritage sites and a number
of local artisans along the way.

our little baby girl who is just 3 months old. The person we are interested in
should have at least the following qualifications:
• Loves children and is gentle, polite and patient
• Has 15-20 years of child rearing experience
• Knows baby CPR
• Values a loving as well as an educational daily schedule
• Is a non-smoker/drinker
• Speaks fluently Turkish
• Is able to drive/commute to North Bethesda, Maryland during weekdays
• Is available Mondays through Fridays between 8 am and 6 pm
• Might be available occasionally on weekends
